Good strategy

First, and as it seems the most important thing when you start your own project is a good strategy. You should know why you want to start this project, what are it s specific features, how can it influence on people lives, and how to successfully persuade people to use it. I think it is a key question. Even if you have a good idea, and sacrifice much energy to run it, it is unfortunately worth nothing if nobody knows that it exists, or wants to use it.

They are great examples to CommonsNet firstly because they have achieved a huge success and become known across the world, and secondly they have found a wide range of contributors, volunteers, people who want to work on this success. So, doing some research on them is advisable to find correct and complete answers to all initial questions we may have. Let’s list them to be sure what we are looking for. It will definitely help us to lead our project successfully as well. They can also be found here.
